The sleeping giants and the weakling in Life

                            The Sleeping Giants,

"A weakling who is awake and  daring is by far better than a sleeping giant"

Brian Tracy once said, "The height of great men, won and kept, were not achieved by sudden flight. But while their companions slept, they were toiling upward in the night". It is quite unfortunate that so many dreams died unachieved and many good visions, promising potentials and talents are lying fallow and dormant; the possessors of those great dreams and potentials are "sleeping". No dream can be achieved while sleeping, a weakling who is up and daring is by far better than a sleeping giant. Your preset state is the result of how you lived your life yesterday, and your future can be predicted by the way you live your life today. To every action they is an equal and opposite reaction.

No doubt unsuccessful people cannot lack excuses to give. They are ready to defend their irresponsibility by all means and at all cost, but we cannot rule out the fact that laziness, procrastination, irresponsibility and lack of self discipline have been the indices of failures. "There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure (Colin Powell). It takes conscious effort to succeed. The man at the top didn't fall there; he worked himself to the top. Anything you don't work, never work for you. If you wish to be successful then you must start working and walking to the top else, you'll be disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. The reason why things are not working for you is that you do not work. Greatness is achievable, but not without a price. You either pay the price for success now and enjoy the result or you keep killing your dream by being irresponsible and then, live the rest of your life being miserable, worthless, and full of regrets.

Though Life does not give everybody equal starting point; there are those who must struggle through thick and thin in life to be able to get things done. It is noteworthy that heroes are known by the amount of obstacles they are able to overcome. Moreover, smooth seas never make a skilled sailor neither does a road without obstacles lead to anywhere important. All you need is the will and the willpower. All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them( Walt Disney). John Mason puts it: " worst than quitter is the man who is afraid to begin" Start immediately Walter Winkle has this to say "If you think you are beaten, you are; If you think you dare not, you dare not, you don't. If you think you'll loose, you've lost; for out of the world we find that success begins with a fellow's will; it's all in the state of the mind. Life battles don't always go to the stronger and faster man, but sooner or later the man who wins is the man who thinks he can" the likes of Ben Carson, Thomas Edison, Bill Gate and Abraham Lincoln (just to mention but few) didn't enjoy a good starting point; they rose above all limitations to make their mark on the sand of time.

Let your decision to start pursuing your dreams be followed by a dogged determination to remain focused despite distractions. Withdraw from people who are attempting to give you reasons why you cannot make it. Make friends with goal-oriented people; you become like the people you continually associate with. Be deaf when people tell you that you cannot make it. When the two wright brothers were fully convinced that they could make an Aeroplane, they were stopping them. A New York editorial on December 10th  1903 mocked their wisdom of trying to invent and fly an object heavier than air. However, a weak later, they made the first powered flight at Kitty Hawk. Don't listen to small thinkers who would want to make you do same. wake up, set your goals and start working, in times to come when you've finally succeeded, those who disbelieve the possibility of achieving your dream will celebrate you. It is never too late to be what you might have been. You can achieve almost every goal withing your own ability if you must think you can and you must the price. Remember a weakling who is up and daring is by far better than a sleeping giant
